    CHARLES SYLVESTER STAHL

"Chick" Stahl broke into the major leagues with the NL Boston Beaneaters in 1897, batting .358 with 13 triples. He topped the .300 mark in five of his first six seasons. Chick moved to the Boston Americans in 1901 and continued his fine play. In 1903, he hit three triples in the World Series and led the AL with 19 in 1904. He became the Red Sox player-manager in 1906 but committed suicide the following spring.
