Our Son

by Sue Scudder (Paris, TX)

Scott Scudder left pro baseball in 1993 after several things happened that caused his outlook on the game and lifestyle to change. First he had an injury that just seemed to not heal properly and then the strike came along. Also, he and his wife Tracy had a baby and needed him home more.

Scott left without any regrets and went to Austin and began seeking a degree in education with the intention to teach and coach. He graduated Texas U. with a degree in Social Studies and with his family now consisting of Reed age 4, Trey age 1 1/2, and a daughter on the way he moved back home to Paris and began coaching and teaching at North Lamar High School. He is the head baseball coach and helps with football. He and his wife have built a beautiful home out north of Paris on 20 acres and Tracy has become involved with many community activities as well as those that involve her children and family. She is the Junior Achievement Director in Paris and co-directs the nursery program at their church.

They have many friends and love to travel and visit her family in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Scott and Tracy have some great memories from their days in baseball and some sad ones too but they talk about those times often.
