Single-A ball is a tough life for many young players. Ups and downs riddle these young men, but to those that stick with this life, their dreams may come true. For Ramon Vazquez, he found one of his dreams in Single A ball.
While playing for the Seatle Mariners Single-A team, the Lancaster Jethawks, Vazquez found love.
Number one, numero uno. One may say that he is just one of those lucky guys. Both lucky in love, his wife is a former ball-girl, and in his career, a major-leaguer. Back when Vazquez was in minor A ball, he met his wife, and fell in love. His wife is a native of nearby Rosamond, California. Through this marriage, Vazquez married a town. His wife, whose madien name is Olmos, has family in the small town. This small town of Rosamond cheers for their baseball player, whom a large number of the town is related to.
Vazquez, in his minor league days, would come out and give pointers to the high school's baseball team. His wife's brother is currently a junior on the varsity team.
This year, as the town of Rosamond watched, Ramon Vazquez made his major league debut with the San Diego Padres. His place on the starting lineup is all an act of chance, after one of the players became injured.
I guess some people have a great natural ability, and some work hard to get what they want, and others just have luck. Ramon Vazquez is one of those people with all three.
