I played for Queens College and we went up to Concordia College to play their team. Their ace pitcher was going that day. We heard he was flat out "nasty." He threw a sinker in the low 90s. Needless to say, we managed ONE hit against John Doherty. All the rumors pointed to him turning pro. None of us were surprised that he was a starter for the Tigers. Just surprised he didn't have a longer career.
