John Roseboro
Fond Memories of You
by Mickey Williams (Philly/SouthPort)

Dear baseball fans, I can tell you first-hand what a wonderful cousin Johnny Roseboro was. John and my mother Gertrude Betty were first cousins. When I was a child, whenever the Dodgers came to Connie Mack Stadium we were always at the box office as children waiting to see our favorite family member when he came to town. My mother would say don't tell all your friends we won't have enough tickets. Johnny would always just get us kids more tickets. Johnny would come to Aunt Rosie's house in South Port and we would go fishing, play ball ... he would take us to meet his friends like Sandy Koufax.
