Doug Bair and I played in the minors for the Pirates. He was the #2 draft pick that year, 1970 - behind Craig Reynolds. Doug is a quiet guy with a great sense of humor. On one of our days off in the instructional league in Bradenton, Fla., we went to the just-opened Disney world. Doug bought a life-like Frankenstein mask. One night after practice we got in his new Corvette and took a drive through the streets of Bradenton. I was riding shotgun and Doug had me put on the mask as we drove around. We would pull next to other drivers at stop lights and I would try to scare them. Sometimes we did and other times, people got mad. Good thing we were in his Corvette.
