Nobody Worked Harder Than Dandy Andy
Andy Van Slyke With the Pirates
by Darrell Larocque (St. Johnsbury, VT)

Nobody worked harder on the Pirates teams of the early 90's than Andy Van Slyke. Graceful in his play, tough to get out at the plate, he was great to watch. What was really frustrating was that he was lost to us when he got injured on the wall...from then on, you knew he would never be the same, and it was a shame. He truly was the leader of the Buccos, much more so than Barry Bonds.
