Bob Allison

by Lou Kitchen (Stanton, MI)

The first time I saw Bob Allison play was in Detroit in 1959 or 1960 when he was still a Senator. A few minutes prior to game time, he was standing with his hat off and intently surveying the crowd. I was amazed at how movie-star handsome, sturdy and strong he appeared. From that early moment in his career, I had a feeling that he would become a M.L. star and leave his mark on the game.

» I have been an avid baseball fan since the early '50s.
