Cliff Aberson, Minor Leaguer

by Paul Green (Fort Dodge, IA)

I grew up on a farm near Janesville, WI when Janesville had a Class D team in the Wisconsin State League, a farm club of the Chicago Cubs.

Cliff Aberson was the only player ever to play for Janesville to go on to play for the parent Cubs. He also had a brief stint as a football player for the Green Bay Packers, and had an exceptionally strong throwing arm in both sports.
