Did Harry Heitmann Lose A Game?

by Flynn (Rochester, NY)

Harry Heitmann is tagged with the loss in the only game he pitched in. But checking the microfilm of the Rochester, NY paper for that day, the article reads that Burleigh Grimes was given the loss.

Starter Heitmann gave up 4 runs, but Grimes gave up the next seven, in their team's (Brooklyn's) loss to St.Louis that day, 22-7.

» Flynn is a baseball fan, and aspiring historian of the game.
