In Memoriam: Harley J. Grossman

by Mike Dugan (Kenmore, NY)

Like myself, Harley J. Grossman was a Hoosier by birth. Born May 5, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana, Harley had the distinction of playing in only one major league game -- with the Washington Senators versus the Boston Red Sox on April 22, 1952. Boston got two runs off Harley, and he and his teammates lost to the Red Sox 10-5. With regrets, the baseball world learned recently of Harley's passing.
