Wally Backman
My All-Time Favorite Player
by James Dolan (Monroe Twp, NJ)

I just want to say that Wally Backman is my all-time favorite player. Growing up, I used to try and mimic his style of play, not his batting stance (I think he is the only player that can get away with that stance) but his aggresiveness. I am now 25 years old and still play baseball on a semi-pro level, and still come home with the dirtiest uniform, just like he did.
