Ryan Jensen, My Teammate

by Taylor Davis (Georgia)

Ryan Jensen -- "Donk", as teammates called him -- was an outstanding third baseman for Colorado Northwestern Community College (Rangely, CO) in 1994. Our team was not very competitive, but we were drastically improving under a new coach. I transferred after my sophomore year to Georgia Southern University and never played baseball again. Of all of my past teammates, Ryan is the only one that made it to the big leagues. Several have been drafted or signed. No one hit a bomb like Ryan. When I saw him pitching for the San Francisco Giants on T.V. I was surprised, though he always had a thunderbolt for an arm at third. I wish I could provide statistics, but 1994 is over ten years ago. Ryan transferred to another college when I did and I later discovered that he went to Southern Utah University. Congratulations, Donk!
