Bronswell Patrick, Hitter's Nightmare

by Big Daddy (Huntsville, AL)

When I entered the stadium gate I could hear the sound of the baseball cutting through the air and popping the catcher's mitt. I glanced down to the bullpen to see who was responsible for the catcher's excruciating pain. I was not the only whose attention was diverted; the gentleman in the batter's cage from the opposing team was also aware of strong right hander Bronswell Patrick. What will amaze you most is that I was born deaf.I had never been able to hear one sound up until that moment. To this day doctors have never been able to expain this to my family.
