My Friend, Pete Gray

by Jennifer Bishop (Nanticoke, PA)

Pete Gray was an amazing guy. I didn't know him as a baseball player but O did know him as a friend. Him and my grandma used to be best friends. When I was a little girl everytime me and my grandma went down to the park to play he would be down there. He used to tell me to always follow my dreams and to never give up. He taught me a lot about life. The one thing I remember about him is the way he cared for people. He helped me out in so many ways. I had a really bad childhood but he was always there go give me support and say everything would be ok. He was like the grandfather I never had. Now that I live up in NY, I tell people about him but they have no idea who he is. I just want people to know the Pete that I knew, and see what a great person he was and still is and always will be. The last time I saw him at my grandma's funeral he told me to be strong because now she is watching over me, and that I still had him and he would always be there for me. I just wanted to share a little about what he ment to me and always will mean to me. I love you Pete ... and will always remember you.

» Jennifer was really good friends with the famous Pete Gray.
