Yo-Yo Davalillo

by Mike Angel (Caracas, Venezuela)

In Venezuela, when we talk about managing a baseball team, it impossible to mention Yo-Yo Davalillo -- as I see it, the best manager ever in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. He couldn't make it as a player because of an injury that took him out of the game as player, but undoubtly, OUR YO-YO is a baseball man. He knows what to do in a baseball team. I remember that some years ago in the Final Series in LPB in Venezuela his team -- Leones del Caracas -- was down 3-1 in the series and god knows howhe did but the team won the Championship. As he once said: 'Nadia ama mas al Caracas (Leones) que yo', that is 'nobody loves Leones del Caracas more than me'. He's shown it.
