The Pete Gray That I Knew

by AM (Nanticoke Area)

Although I am far to young to recall the days Pete Gray had played the sport that had come to love so much. I did know him as the regular person he had chose to become after leaving the lime light of baseball. He was a very nice and gentle person, who would share a good baseball story with you, one who was willing to sit and talk for hours on end about everything. I can recall he would talk about the current Yankees games and he would have this certain glow about him whenever he talked about his memories. He loved the game so much but had also enjoyed his privacy as well. Even though he has passed on, myself as well as the others who spent so much time with him will always keep in our thoughts.
