| | 1974 WORLD SERIES |
| Q: Who won the World Series in 1974? |
| -- IANROB231@aol.com |
|
A: Alvin Dark's Oakland Athletics overcame turbulence in the clubhouse -- pitchers Rollie Fingers and Blue Moon Odom slugged it out before Game One -- to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers, four games to one. It was Oakland's third straight championship and the first All-California World Series in baseball history. A's second baseman Dick Green was the MVP.
