SCOTT, JONES, AND BUSH, 1922 | In 1922, with the team in first place, Ed Barrow made yet another deal
with the Red Sox, obtaining shortstop Everett Scott and two pitchers -- Sam Jones and Joe Bush. Scott, who had been with Boston since 1916, had not
missed a game and continued his playing streak with the Yankees. When he
left the Yankees in 1925, he had a total of 1,307 continuous games. Lou Gehrig later broke that record with 2,130 games as the Yankees' first
baseman.
