BABE SWATS #60 | On September 30, 1927, the Yankees played their final game of the
season. Babe Ruth had 59 home runs going into the game. Tom Zachary was pitching
for the Washington Senators. In the eighth inning, Ruth hit his 60th home
run. As the crowds cheered, Ruth jogged around the bases slowly, making sure
he touched each base, and then imbedded his spikes into the rubber home
plate.| » NEXT: Babe Crosses Home, 1927 |
