RUTH KNOCKED COLD, 1924 | On July 5, 1924, at Washington's Griffith Stadium, Babe Ruth was chasing
after a fly ball in foul territory and knocked himself out. The trainer, Doc
Woods, applied ice to the Babe's head and eventually revived him. In this
photograph, concerned fans crowd over the wall to see while the guards order
them back.
