1891 | A new ballpark opened immediately to the north of the New Polo Grounds in 1890. Originally used by the New York team in the Player's League and known as Brotherhood Park, it was taken over by the National League Giants in 1891 and renamed the Polo Grounds. The stadium they had abandoned reverted to the name Manhattan Field. Its grandstand remained for several years, and the playing area was used for a variety of activities.
