NIGHT BALL | The City of David played in the very first night baseball game on April 17, 1930. Playing in Independence, Kansas at Riverside Park, the City of David played against the Independence Producers before 1,200 fans. An Independence Daily Reporter article read: "First professional baseball by electric light. Independence witnesses world debut of night baseball on park of locals." The Producers defeated the City of David by a score of 9-1.
