1920 | Evidence of the early popularity of the House of David team can be found in a 1920 issue of the Mid-Week Pictorial, which stated that "the team is making a round of the country and playing first-class ball with semi-pro nines." Under the circular photo of Paul Mooney reads, "Crack pitcher of the House of David, who has been eagerly sought after by big league teams." The caption is correct; unfortunately the picture is actually Hip Vaughn.
