1946 SLUGGERS | The Kansas City Monarchs did not have a single player selected to the inaugural East-West Atl-Star game in 1933. However, they made up for lost time. From 1934 to 1953 the Monarchs sent a record 78 players to all-star competition. A small sampling, from left to right, is Chico Renfroe (selected in 1946, but did not play), Joe Greene (1940-42), Connie Johnson (1940 and 1950), John Scott (1946), and Willard Brown (1936-49).
