WES FERRELL, 1937 | Boston Red Sox pitcher Wes Ferrell grounds out during a 1937 contest against the White Sox. Not only was Ferrell a good pitcher -- he won 193 games over 15 seasons -- he was one of the better-hitting pitchers. He had a lifetime .280 average and hit .347 in 1935. The Sox catcher is Luke Sewell.
