Opening Day in Boston, 1904

OPENING DAY IN BOSTON, 1904 | Captain and Manager Jimmy Collins prepares to hoist the first modern World Champions banner to fly over the Huntington Avenue Grounds. Behind third baseman Collins are right fielder Buck Freeman, who led the league in home runs with 13 and RBIs with 104; first baseman Candy LaChance; and left fielder Patsy Dougherty, tops in the league with 104 hits in 590 chances.
