Can't Wait For Spring

CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING | Opening Day in Detroit in 1911 finds playing conditions just a little rough. Davy Jones leads off against the Chicago White Sox in nearly "white-out" circumstances. Owner Frank Navin always argued with AL President Ban Johnson for a later start to the season, but never won. Billy Sullivan Sr. handles the catching duties.
