According to his entry: "In Medich's first major league game (9/5/72 against Baltimore), he drew a walk as the starting pitcher when the Yankees batted around in the top of the first." All the stats I've seen for Medich do not have him with any plate appearances for 1972. Maybe all the stats are wrong, but I was just wondering about the inconsistency.

David W. Smith of Retrosheet (www.retrosheet.org) confirms that Medich was indeed walked by Dave Leonhard in the top of the first inning on September 5, 1972.
