Bug #239   found in Hoyt Wilhelm's player profile
URL: /ballplayers/W/Wilhelm_Hoyt.stm
Fixed: June 18, 2003
Reported by: Fred Helenius (fredh@ix.netcom.com)
Reported error: Hoyt Wilhelm's only triple came in his second season, not his second at-bat. That this is an error is confirmed by his baseball-reference.com statistics, and explicitly mentioned in the Rob Neyer article you cite on the page.
Original text: "Wilhelm hit the only home run of his lengthy career in his first ML at-bat on April 23, 1952 (and his only triple in his second at-bat)."
Action taken: Parenthetical comment deleted.
Revised text: "Wilhelm hit the only home run of his lengthy career in his first ML at-bat on April 23, 1952."
