» November 28, 1969: Los Angeles 2B Ted Sizemore becomes the 7th Dodger to win National League Rookie of the Year honors.

» October 5, 1970: St. Louis trades controversial slugger Dick Allen to Los Angeles for 2B Ted Sizemore and C Bob Stinson.

» August 7, 1972: When Cleon Jones misses a shoestring catch in the bottom of the 13th inning, Ted Sizemore races around with an inside-the-park homer to give the Cards a 3–2 win over the 2nd place Mets. Diego Segui, in relief of Bob Gibson who pitches 10 innings, is the winner. Mets 2B Ken Boswell has no chances to tie a major-league record for an extra inning game.

» April 17, 1975: During a 14–7 loss to the Mets, the Cardinals Ted Simmons homers from both sides of the plate, while teammate 2B Ted Sizemore ties a major-league record with three errors in the 6th inning.

» March 2, 1976: The Cards trade 2B Ted Sizemore to the Dodgers for OF Willie Crawford.

» October 7, 1977: Down 5–3 with two outs in the 9th inning, the Dodgers catch lightning in a bottle. Pinch hitter Vic Davalillo beats out a 2-strike drag bunt and pinch hitter Manny Mota follows with a long double off Greg Luzinski's glove. Mota reaches 3rd on a throw that Ted Sizemore mishandles. Lopes' grounder hits a seam in the carpet and caroms off Mike Schmidt's knee to Larry Bowa, and the shortstop's throw is ruled late. Los Angeles pulls out a 6–5 victory.

» February 23, 1979: The Phillies trade five players to the Cubs for 2B Manny Trillo, OF Greg Gross, and C Dave Rader. Chicago gets Barry Foote, Jerry Martin, Ted Sizemore, and two minor leaguers.

» August 17, 1979: The Cubs sell vet Ted Sizemore to the Red Sox for a player (C Mike O'Berry) to be named later.
