» July 14, 1974: The Reds and Pirates split a doubleheader marked by a free-for-all which is later credited with inspiring Pittsburgh and turning its season around. The fight starts after a 4th inning beanball when Jack Billingham plunks P Bruce Kison, bringing both teams onto the field. When Sparky Anderson accidentally steps on Ed Kirkpatrick's foot, the Buc catcher shoves the Reds manager, earning him a punch from the Reds Andy Kosco. Pedro Borbon pins Daryl Patterson, pulling his hair out and a piece of flesh.

» October 8, 1974: The Pirates stay alive with a 7–0 win in the National League game as Bruce Kison gets the win. Richie Hebner and Willie Stargell drive in six runs between them.

» August 17, 1975: During the Reds' 3–1 win over the Pirates, Pete Rose singles off Bruce Kison for career hit number 2,500.

» September 9, 1975: The Cubs Bill Madlock suffers an "incomplete fracture" of his right thumb when hit by a Bruce Kison pitch in a 6–5 win over the Pirates.

» June 29, 1977: In a 9–1 win, Willie Stargell hits his 400th career home run, this one coming off Eric Rasmussen of the Cardinals. Bruce Kison is the winning pitcher.

» April 23, 1980: Angels P Bruce Kison settles for a one-hitter when Minnesota's Ken Landreaux rips a double with one out in the 9th inning of California's 17–0 romp. It is the 2nd time in a year that Kison has lost a no-hitter with one out in the 9th. For Landreaux, the hit marks the beginning of a 31-game hitting streak. The loser today is Terry Felton.

» October 6, 1982: California goes two up on Milwaukee, helped by Reggie Jackson's home run and Bruce Kison's 5-hitter.
