IN THE NEWS: California trades P Dean Chance and a player to be named to the Twins for OF Jimmie Hall, 1B Don Mincher, and P Pete Cimino.

IN THE NEWS: The Senators bring Camilo Pascual, along with Bernie Allen, back to Washington send Minnesota P Ron Kline in exchange.

IN THE NEWS: By a 4–3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court refuses to review Wisconsin's suit to prevent the Braves' move to Atlanta, thereby retaining baseball's "umbrella" under antitrust laws.
