Wednesday, November 10th

IN THE NEWS: In a move that will give Chicago their mound ace for the 1950s, Detroit sends young Billy Pierce (3-0 in 1948) to the White Sox for Aaron Robinson. The Tigers even sweeten the deal with $10,000.

Tuesday, November 30th

IN THE NEWS: Player-manager Lou Boudreau is selected the AL MVP. Boudreau had almost been traded to the Browns earlier in the year, but protests by fans kept Lou in Cleveland. After the WS win, owner Bill Veeck commented, "Sometimes the best trades are the ones you never make."
