IN THE NEWS: Bob Feller signs with the Indians for a reported $30,000.

Friday, January 31st

IN THE NEWS: Paul Waner, released by Pittsburgh in December 1940, signs with Brooklyn. He'll play 11 games before moving onto the Braves, but he'll return to Brooklyn in 1943.
