IN THE NEWS: Walter Johnson pitches a no-hitter, his first, against the Red Sox at Fenway. An error by Bucky Harris costs him a perfect game, but Harris's hit drives in Washington's only run. The next day Johnson comes up with the first sore arm of his life and is useless for the rest of the year, finishing 8-10.
