IN THE NEWS: Harry H. Frazee, New York theater owner and producer, and Hugh Ward buy the Red Sox for $675,000 (one report puts the figure at $750,000) from Joseph Lannin. Bill Carrigan announces that he will retire as Red Sox manager to pursue his interests in Lewiston, Maine.

Wednesday, November 29th

IN THE NEWS: In Kansas City, Walter Johnson and Grover Cleveland Alexander face each other for the first time. The exhibition game between the two stars features Zach Wheat, Casey Stengel, Max Carey, Hal Chase and others. The "Johnsons" prevail over the "Alexanders", 3–2.
