10th

Pittsburgh Pirates rookie 3B Jimmy Williams's batting streak stops at 26 games as Louisville's Deacon Phillippe holds him in check.

16th

New York forfeits a game to the Brooklyn Superbas when umpire Tom Burns, ridden mercilessly by the Giants after questionable calls, "won't take it any more" and declares Brooklyn a 9-0 winner.

24th

Tom O'Brien of the Giants collects one hit and 3 walks and steals 5 bases, including home, in the 7-2 win over Cleveland.
