» December 22, 1995: The Phillies sign free agent 3B Todd Zeile.

» August 29, 1996: The Orioles obtain two right hand sluggers, 3B Todd Zeile and OF Pete Incaviglia from the Phillies for two players to be named. Free agents at the end of the season, both will sign elsewhere.

» October 13, 1996: The Yankees defeat the Orioles, 6-4, giving them the American League pennant. The victors score all of their runs in the 3rd inning, which features home runs by Jim Leyritz, Cecil Fielder, and Darryl Strawberry. Scott Erickson gives the three homers in one inning, a first in the LCS. Bobby Bonilla, Todd Zeile, and Eddie Murray homer for the losers.

» December 8, 1996: The Dodgers sign free agent 3B Todd Zeile to a 3-year contract.

» June 1, 1997: Whoops. Rookie 2B Wilton Guerrero of the Dodgers is ejected from game in St. Louis for using a corked bat. Guerrero shatters his stick while grounding out to lead off the game. Umpire Steve Rippley sees that the bat has been altered and shows it to crew chief Bruce Froemming, who then ejects Guerrero. Guerrero will earn an 8-day suspension and a $1,000 fine. The Dodgers end their eight-game road losing streak with a 6–1 win when Mike Piazza, Eric Karros and Todd Zeile hit consecutive home runs in the 4th inning. Chan Ho Park (4-2) allows one run in six 2/3 innings for the victory.

» June 18, 1997: Billy Ashley, Raul Mondesi and Todd Zeile each hit two-run homers to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7–5, over the Anaheim Angels. When Shigetoshi Hasegawa relieves in the sixth inning, Dodger starter Hideo Nomo is still in the game, the first major league matchup of pitchers from Japan.

» September 18, 1997: At San Francisco, Brian Johnson homers in the 12th inning to give the Giants a 6–5 win over the Dodgers and a tie for the lead in the National League West. Rod Beck gives up three singles in the 10th, but K's Todd Zeile and gets Eddie Murray on a DP.

» March 31, 1998: Cardinals' rookie P Braden Looper makes an auspicious major league debut in St. Louis' 6–0 win over the Dodgers. Looper enters the game in the 9th inning and strikes out all three batters he faces—Todd Zeile, Raul Mondesi, and Paul Konerko. The Dodgers are held to three hits by four St. Louis pitchers.

» May 15, 1998: In one of the biggest trades in recent years, the Dodgers send All-Star C Mike Piazza and 3B Todd Zeile to the Florida Marlins in exchange for outfielders Gary Sheffield and Jim Eisenreich, C Charles Johnson, 3B Bobby Bonilla, and P Manuel Barrios.

» July 31, 1998: The Rangers trade P Darren Oliver and 3B Fernando Tatis to the Cardinals in exchange for P Todd Stottlemyre and SS Royce Clayton. The Rangers get 3B Todd Zeile from the Marlins in exchange for 3B Jose Santo and P Daniel De Young. Tatis will hit .287 with 11 homers this year in St. Louis, but Zeile will help by reaching base 11 straight times during a critical three game stretch in September.

» April 12, 1999: The Rangers recall P Jeff Zimmerman from Oklahoma City (AAA), making them the first team since the 1916 Chicago Cubs with three players whose last names begin with the letter "Z." Zimmerman joins 3B Todd Zeile and C Gregg Zaun. The 1916 Cubs roster included IFs Rollie Zeider and Heinie Zimmerman and OF Dutch Zwilling.

» May 19, 1999: The Rangers top the Devil Rays, 7-6, as Texas gets three consecutive home runs in the 5th inning by C Ivan Rodriguez, DH Rafael Palmeiro, and 3B Todd Zeile.

» June 30, 1999: Texas defeats Anaheim, 18-4, as both DH Rafael Palmeiro and 3B Todd Zeile get four hits and drive home four runs.

» September 3, 1999: The Rangers beat the White Sox, 10–4 and now have five players with 20+ home run for the 1st time in team history: Rafael Palmeiro (41), Juan Gonzalez (32), Ivan Rodriguez (31), Lee Stevens (22), Todd Zeile (20). Rusty Greer (18) will join them.

» December 11, 1999: The Mets sign free agent 1B-3B Todd Zeile to a 3-year contract.

» October 11, 2000: The Mets defeat the Cardinals, 6-2, in the opener of the NLCS behind the pitching of Mike Hampton. Todd Zeile and Jay Payton hit 9th-inning homers for New York, whose pitchers had their streak of 26 consecutive scoreless ended by two unearned runs in the 9th.

» October 16, 2000: The Mets defeat the Cardinals, 7-0 behind Mike Hampton, to win their 1st pennant since 1986. Hampton takes NLCS MVP honors with his 16 scoreless innings and two victories. Todd Zeile drives home three runs with a bases loaded double for NY.

» April 11, 2001: The Braves defeat the Mets, 2-0, as Greg Maddux (7 innings), Mike Remlinger (1 inning), and John Rocker (1 inning) combine on a one-hitter. Todd Zeile's 2nd single is the only NY hit and Maddux retires the last 17 batters he faces. Maddux has more wins against the Mets (27–16) than he has against any other team.

» January 21, 2002: In a complicated three–team deal, the Colorado Rockies trade Alex Ochoa and two prospects to the Mets for veterans Benny Agbayani and Todd Zeile. The Rocks will pay $2 mil of Zeile's $6 million contract, while the Mets agree to pay $3.25 million of it, plus a $500,000 buyout payment on the contract. The Mets receive minor leaguers Ross Gload and Craig House from Colorado. The 3rd team in the deal, the Brewers, pay $250,000 of it. The Brewers then send slugger Jeremy Burnitz, starter Jeff D'Amico, INF Lou Collier, and two prospects to the Mets. New York ships pinchhitter/IF Lenny Harris, P Glendon Rusch, and Ochoa to Milwaukee. The Mets have now replaced half of their 2001 roster.

» April 5, 2002: Andy Ashby and Omar Daal combine to hold the Rockies to one hit, a single by Todd Zeile, in shutting out Colorado by a score of 9–0.

» December 18, 2002: The Yankees sign free agent 3B Todd Zeile to a contract.
