Del Young was a good-fielding, weak-hitting middle infielder with the futile Philadelphia Phillies in the pre-WWII period. The compactly-built Cleveland, Ohio native's father, Delmer John Young, played 94 games in the majors, mostly with Buffalo of the Federal League. (FS)
