Wright went 8-2 with a 2.51 ERA in his second season but dropped off to 0-5 the next
year. Resurfacing in 1922, he went 9-7 with five saves and a 2.92 ERA as the Browns
challenged for the AL pennant.

»August 19th, 1922: In Philadelphia, the Browns and A's split a pair, with St. Louis taking the opener, 9–5. Urban Shocker is backed by Ken Williams 31st HR. He hits his 32nd in the nitecap, but the A's win, 6–5, when Bing Miller bangs a 2-run HR in the eighth off Rasty Wright. The split allows the Yankees, winner over Chicago, to move back into first place.
»August 26th, 1922: The Yankees take over first place by beating the Browns, 9–2, behind Carl Mays. Rasty Wright is the loser.
