After nine years in the Red Sox farm system, Wright went 8-4 for Boston in 1978,
throwing three shutouts. He recorded only one subsequent ML decision, as he was disabled
much of 1979. James Leon Wright, four inches taller at 6'5" and unrelated, pitched
for the Royals in 1981-82.
