» October 6, 1997: Cleveland sends New York home, as rookie Jaret Wright wins his 2nd game of the ALCS series, 4-3, giving the Indians a 3-games-to-2 series win.

» October 12, 1997: The Indians again score the winning run in their last at bat, coming back from a 4-2 deficit to defeat the Orioles, 8-7, for their 3rd straight win in the ALCS. Sandy Alomar drives home the winner with a single after hitting a 2-run homer earlier in the contest. He also scores from 2B on a wild pitch in the 5th. Brady Anderson, Harold Baines, Rafael Palmeiro hit homers off Jaret Wright in the 5th while Manny Ramirez goes deep for the Tribe. Jose Mesa blows his 2nd save in two days, but receives credit for the win.

» October 22, 1997: The Indians ride home runs by Manny Ramirez and Matt Williams to a 10-3 victory over Florida to even the Series at two games apiece. Williams and Sandy Alomar get three hits each to give Jaret Wright the win.

» October 6, 1998: The Yankees jump on Cleveland starter Jaret Wright for five runs in the 1st inning and hold on to defeat the Indians, 7–2, in the 1st game of the ALCS. Jorge Posada homers for NY, while Manny Ramirez connects for the Tribe.

» April 5, 1999: In the opener at Anaheim, the Angels rally to beat the Indians, 6–5. Salmon and Anderson hit homers on consecutive pitches off Jaret Wright in the 4th. But franchise player Mo Vaughn tumbles into the Cleveland dugout chasing a foul ball and severely sprains his ankle. Mo plays five innings before leaving but he'll miss 15 days. The injury will linger causing him problems at the plate and, he says later, causing the ligament damage that will curtain his 2000 season.

» April 23, 1999: At Fenway, ex-Red Sox hitter Wil Cordero hits a 2-run home run, off Jim Corsi, in the 6th to give the Indians a 7–6 win over Boston. His hit follows the 2nd bench clearing brawl of the game. Rheal Cormier plunks Jim Thome and Corsi relieves. The first brawl comes in the 5th after Jarret Wright allows a homer, walk and single, then hits Darren Lewis with a pitch. Both are tossed. Lofton, leading off, and Fryman homer for Cleveland. The American League will suspend Indians P Jaret Wright (5 games) and 1B Jim Thome (3 days), and Red Sox OF Darren Lewis (3 days) and P Rheal Cormier (3 games) for participating in the brawls. All will appeal.

» June 1, 1999: American League President Gene Budig interviews Jaret Wright regarding the Cleveland starter's proclivity for hitting batters. Wright has hit batters in the head twice this season precipitating a brawl each time and a fine and suspension for himself. The right-hander maintains that he's not aiming to hit batters but only to move them off the plate.

» June 2, 1999: American League president Gene Budig meets with Indians P Jaret Wright to discuss head-hunting accusations, due to pitches he has thrown near the heads of Boston's Darren Lewis and Detroit's Tony Clark, which have precipitated fights this season.

» May 19, 2001: Marty Cordova is 0-for-4, stopping his 22-game hit streak, but his Indians beat the Angels, 4–3 in 10 innings. Robby Alomar has three hits, driving home the winning run in the 10th, and Ellis Burks has three hits and three RBIs. Adam Kennedy has four hits for Anaheim. Jaret Wright makes his appearance since June 2, 2000, giving up two runs in five innings. Troy Percival takes the loss and is now 0–8 against Cleveland.
