The lefthanded-hitting Wright was the Rangers centerfielder from 1982 to 1984, and
in 1983 he played in all 162 games, hitting .276 with 18 HR and 82 RBI. His
average
dropped rapidly to .190 by 1985, and in 1986 he was sold to Montreal, where he hit
.188 in 56 games.
