Woods spent most of his career as a platoon outfielder and a frequently used but poor pinch hitter. After hitting a career-high 10 HR in 221 at-bats for Montreal in 1972, he saw his most action in 1973 but hit .230. Speedy and sure-handed, he started his ML career with 182 consecutive errorless chances. (SH)
