Hard-throwing Jim Winn was plagued by gopher balls as a pro. Converted from starter to reliever in Pittsburgh's 1983 spring camp, Winn modeled himself after relief star Goose Gossage. He was Chicago's closing reliever the second half of 1987. (ME)
