The Giants' staff's injury woes gave Wilson chances in 1988 and '89, and he responded by forcing his way into the rotation in 1990. He won 13 games in '91, but slipped to 8-14 the following year.
Arm problems forced Wilson to miss the 1996 and 1997 seasons. He forged a mini-comeback with the Angels in 1998 as a left-handed specialist out of the bullpen, posting a 3.52 ERA in 15 games.
