A 21-game winner for Kansas City (American Association) in 1942, Wensloff slipped into the Yankees' 1943 rotation and went 13-11. Then three years of war-plant employment and Army service intervened. He returned in 1947, but his arm was dead; even so, he won twice in a 19-game Yankee winning streak. (MG)
