Wehrmeister made 30 relief appearances for the Padres in 1977, compiling a 6.04 ERA
in 70 innings. He was traded to the Yankees for Jay Johnstone in June 1979, but didn't
pitch for New York until 1981. In 1985, Wehrmeister logged his only two ML saves
for the White Sox.
