» June 25, 1995: Florida P David Weathers loses a chance at a no-hitter when he is hit on his pitching hand by a Tim Pugh fastball and has to leave the game against the Reds. He had held Cincinnati hitless over the 1st five innings. Terry Mathews replaces him and allows three hits in preserving the Marlins' 5-1 win.

» May 21, 1996: Dave Weathers homers and pitches six shutout innings as the streaking Marlins win, 3–2, over the slumping Reds. The Marlins (24-23) are over .500 for the first time in two years.

» July 31, 1996: At the trading deadline, Detroit trades 1B-DH Cecil Fielder, 32, to the Yankees for OF-DH Ruben Sierra and minor league P Matt Drews. The Yankees also obtain P David Weathers from the Marlins for P Mark Hutton, but will send him to the minors in three weeks.

» August 13, 1996: Robin Ventura belts his team-record 9th grand slam to pace the White Sox to an 8–4 win over the Yankees. David Weathers serves up the gopher.

» March 3, 1997: For the negotiating rights to Hideki Irabu the Yankees offer the Padres a choice of one from a list of players: Brian Boehringer, David Weathers, Chris Cumberland, Andy Fox, and Matt Luke. Also, one player from a list of five minor leaguers, plus $3 million. The Padres are talking to several other teams beside the Yankees.

» April 25, 1997: The White Sox belt the Yankees, 9–3, scoring four runs off reliever David Weathers in a third of an inning. Weathers, with seven blown saves, will be "designated for reassignment" tomorrow.

» April 6, 2001: A crowd of 42,024, including President George W. Bush, is on hand for the first game ever played in Milwaukee's Miller Park. After Bush tosses out the first ball, the Brewers come from behind on Richie Sexson's 2-run home run in the 8th to defeat the Reds, 5-4. Reliever David Weathers takes the win.

» July 30, 2001: The Cubs get P David Weathers and P Roberto Miniel from the Brewers for P Ruben Quevedo and OF Peter Zoccolillo.

» December 13, 2001: The Mets sign free agent OF Roger Cedeno to a 4-year, $18 million contract and free agent P David Weathers to a 3-year pact worth $9.4 million.
